Zoo date

Posted in My Life

With my hubby?  Not this time, with my nephew, Evan.

I had such a blast with him today.  Ive been wanting to take him out for a day, just him and I.  I finally got to do it today.  I said this before and ill say it again –  I work with many kids.  Evan is the sweetest, kindest, most well behaved child I have ever met.

“Can i get a toy Aunt Colleen?”

“I dont think so buddy.”

In a cheerful voice, “ok.”  And he goes on his marry way.  Of course, I did get him a little something at the end to top the day off.

Here are a few pics from our day together.   I will cherish this day in my heart.

Ya gotta get a pic with the monkey statue

The elephants are Evans favorite animal.  Sadly, they have been moved temporarily so that the Zoo can update the area.  I guess an elephant statue will do!

Look’n at the fish!

I told Evan to pretend to fall asleep so that I could have a good blog pic

Then, of course, he really did fall asleep, toys in hand and all.

Requests

Posted in My Life

Sunday at church God gave me this scripture. He told me turn to psalms and to keep turning the pages until He says “stop”.

oooooooooooooook. So I did.  I landed on Psalm 20.

Psalm 20

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.

3 May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.
Selah

4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.

5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.

6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

Today, –  ”I have a request Jesus, can you send me a new worship songs so that my soul may be renewed, and that I may worship You?”

An hour later I got a facebook comment from a friend who goes to my church:

“Have you heard of kari jobe? check out her song ‘You are for me’ . It was my FAVE about a year and a half ago…wanted to tell you about it on sunday, but had to peace out.  See you this weekend!”

What have you been asking God for?

A friend of mine just blogged about her 9 year wedding anniversary, which reminded me that my wonderful husband and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary.

Ill keep it short and sweet.  We went to Carabbas, one of our favorite restaurants.  As we prayed and thanked God for our food, Brett also thanked God for our 3 years together so far.  Then Brett looked up at me and said,  ”H ere’s to 3 more….no 30, no wait 60 more.”  LOL

The moment our prayer was done, we both noticed at the same time, that the song playing in the restaurant at that exact moment was the song we had our first dance to.  ”Come Away With Me” by Nora Jones.

I don’t know about you, but last I checked Carabbas only played Italian songs.
